Worship
Services include singing, prayer, giving, and Bible-based teaching. Children worship, too! In order to gain experience and a sense of family, children of all ages are welcome to worship with us.
Children During Church
Nursery and preschool care is available for the entire service and for families interested, children from kindergarten age and up to 3rd grade are invited to “Children during Church”. Neither of these are required and families are welcome to have their children join them for the entire worship service.
After spending the first 30 minutes in our worship service, our young elementary students are invited to spend the remainder of the service (typically the time of preaching and communion) learning about the Lord in an age appropriate time of teaching. Feel free to walk your children to this class to help them settle in! Many in our congregation do.

What to Expect at Community Church of Ephrata
Everyone is welcome at our services, but if you are new to church, or just investigating the Christian faith, we know it can be a little intimidating. Here are a few general thoughts to help you know what to expect when you show up.
For starters, wear whatever you'd like. We have a very broad variety of dress styles, so you won't feel out of place unless you are in formal evening wear or a masquerade costume. We do have semi-permanent name tags which many (but not all) of the folks who worship with us regularly wear, and if you would like one, we can make you one when you arrive. Feel free to sit in the front, in the middle, or in the back, wherever you are most comfortable. Most of all, I assure you that while we are a welcoming group and believe relationships are important, nobody will try to trap you in the corner and enter your name, phone number, and blood type in a notepad...you are able to maintain whatever level of anonymity you’d like. Your comfort is important to us.
On your way in, grab an order of service, or bulletin, when you arrive. Everything you need to participate in the service is printed in it or will be projected from our LCD projector. If you have a Bible, you can bring it, but you don't need to—the Scripture passage for the sermon is printed in the bulletin.
Our worship service will last about an hour long and includes singing, bible readings, offerings, praying, and a 25 minute sermon. Children of any age are welcome in the service. During the sermon, we do offer a class for our younger students (Pre-K to 3rd grade). If your children are interested in this, they will be excused just before the sermon begins and will be lead to their classroom by the adults teaching the class. Beyond this, we have a nursery available for little ones if you prefer.
Once a month (usually the 1st Sunday), we will celebrate the Lord's Supper, often known as Communion. Those who have put their faith in what Jesus Christ has done on the cross are welcome to eat the Lord's Supper. If you are not yet ready to commit your life to Christ, you should forgo the bread and wine, but we want you to know you are still in the right place. There will be people every week who don't take Communion, so you won't feel singled out if you don't take it. We don't want you to feel pressured into participating in things you are not ready to do with sincerity!
If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at the church office (509.754.6130) or send us an email.
